Get A Free Blog And Increase Online Traffic

Thursday, July 31st, 2008
by Elizabeth Clark

If you’re just searching the web or have a affiliate website online, guess what? Visitors to your website is very important. Also the websites you visit help the owners get free traffic. Imagine traffic as a major highway full of automobiles searching for a exit. And the exit is your website.

Comcast, MSN, AOL, Qwest and many more networks are the lanes of the Internet highway. Now the millions of cars on this highway are people. These people are looking for favorable exits which are websites and weblogs. And your goal is to make your exit look more favorable to attract as many cars as you can.

I’m going to show you how to increase online traffic free. So what I mean is I’m going to show you how to make your exit more visible so more cars will see it and decide to choose your exit 1st. If you have no understanding of “keyword optimization!” This can cost you big bucks.

I’m not claiming to know everything or to be the only one with the Holy Grail on how to increase online traffic. But I will show you a simple nontechnological technique to draw FREE targeted prospects to your website. I will keep this short and simple due to time limitations I leave my contact information for more detailed questions.

Affiliate products are the topic of my traffic information, because this is my area of expertise. Affiliate products generally have zero start up costs. The product owner gives you a free affiliate website and web hosting. ClickBank.com is the merchant I prefer, visit their site in your spare time.

If you’re on a limited advertising budget like the average affiliate marketer; you want to spend little as possible to market your website or product. You need to know the secrets to stay in the game of the major advertising companies.

If you are familiar with Pay-Per click advertising which is effective but costly. Visit: Enhanced.com or AdWords.google.com for more pay-per click information. But our main purpose is to get free visitors to your website.

The proper keywords should be the beginning of your plan and these keywords should relate to the product you’re trying to promote. Let’s say for example, apples is the product you want to promote. Then the keyword apples would be your “primary” keyword. The keyword apples is extremely competitive for the beginner affiliate marketer. Remember as a beginner you want “less competitive” keywords.

Climbing from the bottom to the top should be your goal when competing for keywords in your particular market. By targeting keywords with 3 or more words describing (apples) is far more effective. Example: (red shiny little Apple) is more effective than the word (apples).

Now there are search engine tools online available to verify if people are searching for your particular product. These tools show you exactly what people are typing into the Google, Yahoo or Alexa search engines when looking for your particular product. So to increase online traffic in the search engines you will need: freekeywords.wordtracker.com

Or simply type the words “free keyword tools” in any available search engine. Using these tools type in the name of the product you’re selling to see what keywords people are using to locate your product. Then analyze these keywords starting from the BOTTOM.

These 3 word or longer keywords are called (longtail keywords). For more effective use of keywords visit: goodkeywords.com. To increase online traffic starting from the bottom will give you the competitive edge. Goodkeywords.com has free tools and powerful keyword information.

Now that you have competitive keywords for your product, you want to change your affiliate website URL link to match your primary keyword. We identified (apples) as your primary keyword in the above example.

Remember affiliate website links don’t look pretty because there are payment code’s embedded in the link. Example: my ClickBank.com affiliate link looks like this:http://candyc77.apples.hop.clickbank.net my paid code identifier is candyc77. This doesn’t look good. But to get paid I need this link!

By going to this website: http://www.shorturl.com and paying only $1.88 for the entire year; your affiliate website can look like this: Apples.2fortune.com this looks more professional to your prospects.

Now by following all of my above advice and using the proper (long tail keywords) for your product; let’s find the best traffic vehicle to push your new affiliate website higher in search engine rankings. And this vehicle is a web blog better known as Web log. You can get this free powerful website booster at: www.blogger.com or WordPress.com.

I don’t have time to explain the awesome advantages of using a Web blog instead of a website promote your affiliate products. The RSS feed advantages are tremendous and you can learn more at whatever Web blog site you choose to join above.

The RSS feed is already installed so you don’t have to worry about that, just enjoy promoting your product. And no this one thing,(search engines love RSS feed) Now when promoting your affiliate website with your new Web blog use your primary and secondary and long tail keywords to promote your affiliate website.

Remember to increase online traffic you must start from the bottom if you are sort of new to advertising with weblogs. For example, your primary keyword (apples) is too competitive for the beginner. Your secondary keyword example: (candy apples) is still too competitive for the beginner.

Longtail keywords are keyword phrases with 3 or more words used to describe a search. Like “small green apples.” Your audience is smaller but your competitive ability is far greater. Free traffic is your goal.

Use the long tail keywords you have chosen in the description of your weblog to describe your affiliate product. Also include the better looking affiliate link you’ve obtained from http://www.shortURL.com. http://Apples.2fortune.com is our example linked we acquired from http://www.shortURL.com. As .com links improve affiliate sales. I highly recommend a .com link to increase online traffic.

To better understand all of the above keyword and affiliate link techniques, you need to visit the websites recommend. There is some homework involved but the knowledge you gain is worth it. You have a entire community of bloggers to present your affiliate product to and increase online traffic to your web log. Now to really target your market you need to visit: http://www.technorati.com and search their blog directory by clicking on the word (blog) near the top of the site.

Find your market and see what others are talking about! There you have it, this is a general guideline, due to time constraints. But if you follow these simple procedures you will see a increase in online traffic. Again using good Long tail keywords and a Web blog will give you an advantage.

How Google has Changed Keyword Research Forever with a Free Tool

Thursday, July 31st, 2008
by Dave Joa

Google has quietly released a new version of the external Adwords Keyword Tool to display the number of times a keyword is searched for, when you use it for keyword research. By now showing us Search Volumes for keyword phrases searched for their extremely popular search engine Google gives us a much more accurate idea, for the first time ever, of how often a keyword is used and this is very important news.

Before this new release all involved in affiliate and internet marketing would have had to use a paid keyword research service, such as Keyword Discovery, Wordtracker, Wordze or Keyword Elite to create their keyword lists. The trouble with these services has always been that the amount of data they collect is small in comparison to what Google sees. On the other hand the number of searches recorded by Google is massive compared to what these traditional keyword services provide.

These paid keyword research services try and predict the total searches for each keyword by extrapolating their data, but the numbers returned cannot be considered accurate in any way at all. But because these tools were the only way to get any significant data they were relied on by many if not most internet marketers.

With the new release of the updated version of the Adwords external keyword tool Google has changed the game, because the search volumes it displays are are taken from real keyword phrase search entered by real people into the Google search engine. Thus from now on Google can give you everything you want for keyword research and there will be no need to use the paid for keyword services any more.

The best part of this news is that Google now provides all this new information for free! Although the external keyword tool is provided for affiliate marketers using Adwords to promote products and services, it is available free to everyone. If you know the link URL then you can use this tool for free.

Many top internet marketers in the industry are claiming this as the biggest thing that has happened to internet marketing for a very long time. For once it seems that Google is giving something back. Of course there are also many cynics out there who question why Google has done this and there are others who question the accuracy of the search data Google has revealed. Early checks have shown that in may cases the data is fairly accurate, but only time will tell as more analysis on these new results is completed.

The other major aspect of what Google have just done is that there is a different free version of the tool so that geographically related data can now be discovered, enabling internet marketers to do keyword research specifically for individual countries such as the UK, France or even New Zealand. Thus this is now the best UK keyword research tool for keywords search for in only the United Kingdom.

Apart form the fact this new tool for Google is free this is also very significant and the paid keyword research services never provided any really useful keyword data for country locations.

Article Submission Improves Site Performance

Submitting articles are a very powerful form of advertisng for your websites. Beyond getting the articles read, something far more valuable can come from them. It is known as the backlink.

The power of article submitting comes from the sheer number of copies that are able to be published online. The number can reach in the hundreds of backlinks from just one article. That being said, the format is vital.

Google is no dummy and most of the other search engines follow their site these days. Google will filter most of the articles from the hundreds of directories unless you can diversify your article. The way to do this is to rewrite it.

Article spinning is probably one of the hardest things to pull off. Most of the software for this purpose is useless. The right way is to rewrite your articles by hand.

By submitting the same article to hundreds of dirctories, will get you many backlinks. If its the asame article however, Google will eventually filter out all of those links and article instances from their search results.

You can rewrite your article though in different words. Use different backlinks in the resource box. Use different titles and different authors.

Diversify each article you write as much as humanly possible. There are submission services out there who can take these version and randomly distribute them to thousands of directories.

Although you will probably not end up with hundreds of backlink credits per article, it is possible to recieve fifty or so.

Multiply this by ten or twewnty articles and your website can achieve many page one rankings. The key is to mix and match the content of your articles as much as possible. The more diverse the better.

Also, do NOT focus on just one backlink to market for. Google will pick up on this and further filter your links. Try to come up with a minimum of ten to twenty hyperlink text phrases for each of your websites.

Choose a domain name that is a keyword search phrase for your website. If you can get a dot com extension, it will be relatively easy to get a page one, number one ranking.

This ofcourse is contingent upon how your website is built. Make sure it is properly optimized and isn’t cross linked to other websites on your server.

Backlinks are vital to a websites success. They are more important than avoiding duplicate content. Duplicate content can really only kill you if it is on different websites that are on the same server.

Picking A Shopping Cart For Your Online Business

Thursday, July 31st, 2008
by Kirt Christensen

One of the most difficult problems a small business owner can face when conducting transactions online is the selection of e-commerce software that helps transactions to take place seamlessly both for the owner and the consumers. This is especially true for the shopping cart software; how easy or difficult it is to use this feature can determine whether or not a potential customer will complete a purchase, and thus can determine the success or failure of your business.

The average online business seems to throw together e-commerce software with little thought, and this is a poor way to put a system together. Shopping cart software especially requires a great deal from the system when it comes to performing tasks, and you want to make sure that your set up can adequately handle this. Before choosing a software package for your website, be sure to ask yourself \”What’s the best shopping cart for my online business?\”

The biggest factor you will need to consider is whether the shopping cart software will be able to integrate well into your currently existing systems. It needs to be able to work fluidly and efficiently with a number of other components including inventory management, customer databases and payment systems, and vice versa. This way, your website can be a tool with which sales can take place virtually instantly.

You also need to ask yourself when choosing the best shopping cart for your small business what level of software complexity your customers are likely to have on their own end. You want to provide the greatest degree of simplicity possible to the user, so that customers will not be driven away by a user-unfriendly system.

Another factor will be how much your small business can afford to spend on shopping cart software. While there will be a limit to what you can afford in an e-commerce system, simply going with the cheapest available software is a very poor decision. If this inexpensive software is difficult for the customer to use or is not fully compatible with your other e-commerce tools, it can create serious problems for your business.

How the software is coded is also important to keep in mind as you consider the question \”What’s the best shopping cart for my online business?\” While at one time most businesses used systems developed with common programming, many have gone to either using expensive but extensively supported systems, or systems that are available at no charge but without any support. If you have little money you may be tempted to choose a free system, but unless you know how to fix problems that may arise on your own this is a very poor choice. You need to be sure to select software that you can either fix yourself or have readily available support for in case of difficulties.

If considering the above points leaves you still stuck with the question \”What’s the best shopping cart for my online business?\” you may want to use the internet to see what other users of various packages have experienced. There are many forums created specifically for small business owners to share such information and review various products, and this is a good place to go for information which will allow you to make your own comparisons and come to your own conclusions. The average shopping cart review will touch upon each of the points discussed here from the reviewer’s point of view, allowing you to gather these facts without having to use the software yourself.

Whatever shopping cart software package you end up selecting to use on your website, it is important that it work for both yourself and your consumers. If it provides ease of use to potential customers while at the same time functioning flawlessly with your other business software, it will make transactions simple and hassle free. This will help ensure the success of your small business, as you will have removed any obstacles in your control to potential customers becoming faithful consumers.

Small Business Email Marketing Methods For Success

Thursday, July 31st, 2008
by Ray Lam

Are you a small retailer or service business owner? Have you harnessed the power of the internet, specifically email, to communicate your marketing and sales messages to your customers and prospects? You should? here?s why and how to use small business email marketing!

The first key to successful small business email advertising is to collect the email addresses of your customers. To do this you must establish systems within the framework of your business. No matter how your staff comes into contact with your customers, they must ask for the email address at the point of contact.

As a small retailer or service business owner, your emails most likely WOULD be opened and read by your customers and prospects? IF you were using small business email marketing. Since you?re not, the question is why?

The second key to effective small business email advertising is using the right tools. For this purpose, nothing beats an online autoresponder. There are other alternatives, like do-it-yourself software located on your pc (too unstable) and a dedicated server (too expensive), but the online autroresponder provides the best combination of cost-effectiveness and features for the small business person.

Know what it is you need from your clients an you will make more money. Devise a tactic to cause people to happily provide you with the proper info to create higher conversion. Overload of data is not good. Whilst establishing a small business marketing opt in list, only try to get their full name and email addresses. Make sure that the profiles that you gather are updated to aid in improving the relevance, timeliness and satisfaction from each deal you make.

You may have thought that small business email marketing was beyond your skills, but it?s safe to say that a business owner with even the most rudimentary computer skill can have an email campaign up and running in an afternoon. After that, less than an hour a week will keep you in regular, personal contact with your customers and prospects.

AdWords Keyword Tool: Is It Accurate?

Thursday, July 31st, 2008
by Ronny Talmor

The Internet Marketing world received what seemed like very good news: as of July 2008, the AdWords Keyword Tool is showing actual search volumes instead of shaded green bars.

Emails were sent to all the marketing and advertising mailing lists, giving their subscribers the good news. One of these emails predicted that “it probably spells the end for services like Wordtracker.” A well-known guru expressed his excitement: “Holy cow! Talk about shaking up the planet!”

Jim Morris, who is undoubtedly a keyword research authority and the founder of Nichbot.com, celebrated the breaking news on his blog: “All of a sudden - there is no longer any confusion about how many times people are searching for a certain keyword phrase on Google.com.”

Jim Morris published a screenshot of keywords suggested by the Tool when “blogging” was searched. These are the first 8: blogging, blogs, blog, blogging software, radio blog, pink is the new blog, blog search, bad girls blog. Except for the keywords column there are 3 more columns: Advertiser Competition, Approx Search Volume for last month, and Approx Average Search Volume.

Prior to July 2008, these 3 columns showed a shaded green bar, which somehow represented the volumes, i.e. if the bar was fully shaded it must have indicated very high volume; an empty bar indicated no competition etc. Now, the columns of search volume include actual numbers, while the Advertiser Competition column still shows shaded bars.

I went through the suggestions Jim Morris got for “blogging” and checked a couple of them. For instance, the Advertiser Competition bar next to “radio blog” is painted 3/4 green. Looks like quite a lot of bidders on this keyword, doesn’t it? One expects to find a lot of ads when “radio blog” is searched. Well, not necessarily. There is not even one ad for “radio blog” (at least there were none on 7/8/2008, when the blog was published and I conducted my search). Not in the U.S. nor in the UK or Canada.

The next keyword phrase I checked was “bad girls blog.” The mysterious bar is 50% green, representing more than light competition (Or does it? Nobody knows what it actually represents. The question is, why is it a secret? Why doesn’t Google tell its customers the exact volume of competition?) Anyway, in the case of “bad girls blog,” again, there is not even one ad in the English speaking countries.

It wouldn’t be so bad if Google were just a search engine. But Google charges millions of people billions of dollars for AdWords, and a smart advertiser has to rely on the data that Google gives them to make intelligent decisions regarding his/her advertising campaign. If these data are extremely inaccurate, there is a good chance that most advertisers who use AdWords are pouring a fortune into Google’s pockets to no avail.

Instant Increases In Website Visitors? A Myth?

Thursday, July 31st, 2008
by Jeffrey S. Gross

A critical element of running a successful business on the internet is getting people to visit your site. Attracting site visitors is called getting traffic.

Bringing internet traffic your way can pose as quite an intimidating challenge, as you are competing with millions and millions of other Web sites for attention. Moreover, new sites are being launched pretty much every day. Simply creating a nice site and getting it published won’t automatically attract customers. New and smaller sites are always vying for attention with mammoth, internationally known Web sites.

Here is how it works: most people surf the Web for information or products using search engines such as Google, Yahoo or MSN. Many people enter general terms into the search box (for example, dogs, music or cars), and the search engines deliver a listing of sites containing those terms.

Large Web sites that have been around for a number of years appear on the very first page of their search, because they most likely contain these terms on many pages within their sites, or already receive a multitude of visitors every day. Small and new sites with the same search term do not show up until many pages into the search.

Relying solely on search engine ranking isn’t the only way to generate traffic to your site, thank goodness. Experiment with different approaches for helping people to find your site. The following are three ways to accomplish that goal:

Engage in link exchanges with other non-competing Web sites: Your search engine ranking improves (you appear on an earlier page under specific search terms) when you have other sites link into yours. Adding their links to your site helps the other site owners, too. Find sites with information or products that go well with yours, and suggest exchanging links. Another way to get your URL on other sites is to initiate a blog on one of the blogging sites (two of which are blogger.com and blogspot.com), including a link to your site in each blog entry.

Write free articles for other sites: Many Web owners seek to keep the content on their sites fresh, or send out e-mail newsletters (known as e-zines) to regular customers that subscribe to them. In exchange for providing them with free material they can use, these site owners will allow you to include your Web site information within or at the end of the article, which can lead people from their site to yours.

Off-line advertising: You can advertise your Web site using the exact same techniques that brick and mortar businesses do. Put your Web site URL on everything from brochures and business cards to giveaways such as pens, calendars, coffee mugs. Advertise on television or radio, and/or place print ads.

Cheap Targeted Web site Traffic: This option is the easiest of the bunch. It requires minimal amounts of work and it truly gets your web site legitimate visitors fast. To sum it up, you don’t need to create anything, develop links, or even move a muscle. If you pick a reputable traffic dealer, you will be seeing real visitors showing up at your website. You will be utilizing their websites popularity to get your site visitors, it is a great way for any webmaster to get some real traffic. Please read on for our company recommendations.

The idea is to get your site name in front of as many potential customers as possible. Using low-cost techniques like these can boost your site traffic.
