In the past several years, the world of pay per click advertising has changed. Google’s changes in policies mean that you can’t just put a huge number of keywords into an ad campaign without thought anymore. At least, you can’t do this if you still want to turn a profit.
Doing this sort of thing today will result in most of your keywords being deactivated, or they’ll be active, but expensive. Bid prices on basic keywords have gone up, so you’ll have to pay attention to the ones you choose if you want an effective campaign.
It does not take much to do the small adjustments needed to make a successful pay per click advertising campaign. Just study the reasons that Google has to make its rules by. Then remember to make the right choices for keywords and you will create a successful campaign.
Google profits through its advertising service. It needs to have ads that entice searchers to click on them so Google can make money. This is the reason that they check the ads carefully.
For this reason Google is continuously working on quality. Getting rid of false information, spam, and worthless sites is their goal. Unfortunately many PPC sites fall into these categories. Be sure that Google views you as a worthy site with good ads, so that you can succeed.
What should you do to achieve this? To get a higher quality score, as well as lower costs, start by adding to your site. A few extra pages telling about your site will help you in Google’s eyes.
Firstly introduce an “About Us” page, list of terms and conditions, and a separate privacy page. These additions will do a lot to raise your quality score. Google also considers a contact page to be very important.
Although these changes are relatively small they will make a big impact on your PPC campaign and search engine rankings. When you add an XML sitemap this will also help to improve your quality score.
An XML sitemap is really just a directory of the content in your site. However, it makes it a lot easier for Google to see what your site is and does. Ask a programmer to add a map for you. It’ll cost a little, but it might make your bids up to thirty-five percent cheaper.
If you want to really jumpstart your campaigns then pay attention to Google’s rules and whims. It is well worth the effort as you will improve your PPC campaigns this way. You can actually test your own keywords by looking them up in the search engines.
After this find out about similar terms and then check the content and Meta tags on your competitors’ sites. Never copy, just get an idea of what to do. Adding original content to your site will help to lower your costs and raise your quality rank with Google.

Achieving good search engine visibility has become a necessity for every website today. Sometimes you may feel disconnected and separated from the rest of the world and disenfranchised a bit. There are many ways by which a website can get high rankings in major search engines. One such important method is directory submission. Then the best way for you to solve this problem is to get yourself connected.
Once a website is submitted it takes anywhere between 1 day to 3 months for the website link to be added into the directory. Whether your directory is targeting the local business community or you are targeting the international health community, to ensure that your site gets added into the directory, one must submit it in the most appropriate category otherwise it can be rejected. This way finding the business opportunity that the best fits with you is as easy as browsing popular search engines.
It provides a way for search engine spiders also known as crawlers to find the website and index it in their own database. There are many more business opportunity directories to browse in numbers of other publications available in different formats. As soon as a site is hosted, it must be submitted in web directories so that search engine robots can crawl it.
Since these robots visit directories more often than other sites, probability remains high that your site will be indexed soon. People will begin to respect what you are doing and may tell more people about your directory since they are starting to feel that your directory is more people oriented instead of just simply getting the most listings in the world You as the owner of the site do not have to submit your site to search engines; instead they themselves come and find your site.
A directory placement provides the extra benefit of getting relevant traffic to your website. Searching for the business opportunity on business opportunity directories is a good way to find the legitimate offer you might be interested in. Since people who are actively looking for new websites and portals often visit these web directories, chances remain high that such people may also visit your site and thus provide your site free traffic. Sometimes you can immediately find the opportunity that sounds really attractive for you and which have proven to be legitimate and effective over the years.

Times are hard for British Business, financial institutions are folding on a weekly basis and consumers are tightening purse strings, yet BT the UK telecoms giant seems to be making hay with large annual increases in connection fees, setup costs & line rentals.
BT line rentals today vary from £12.23GBP per PSTN line, £15.92GBP per ISDN channel on a one year contract. VOIP service providers have widened the price gap with SIP line rentals of £1.50 per month per trunk with unlimited outbound channels on a 3 month contract.
A telecoms industry favourite money spinner is the connection fee which has not escaped the recent price hikes with some BT connection charges up 25% to £299GBP(ISDN2) on last year. BT’s usual strategy is to offer free or reduced connection fees for customers willing to enter into long term agreements or call plans. UK VOIP telecoms providers answered back with free connection to all services and contract lengths of 1 to 3 months.
As of September 08 BT has increased it’s call setup fee to 7p which means that unless you have opted for a call plan or switched to LCR, you will be paying 7p for connection before you start your call. Many telecoms companies charge a minimum of one minute whilst UK VOIP providers lead the pack with minimum call charges of 1.5p - 2p & per second billing.
UK landline to mobile minute rates to (07) numbers vary from 8p with LCR on long term contracts and high call spend to BT’s 19p standard rate. Minute rates to national (01) (02) numbers vary from 0.8p on long term LCR contracts to BT’s 4p standard rate. UK ITSPs typically charge 9p - 11p to mobiles & 1.25p -1.5p to landlines without any long contract obligations or spend commitments. Many Voip Providers are now offering all inclusive UK & international calls packages from 15 to 25 pcm.
‘Oneplan’ by BT offers 5p capped calls to landlines & 20p capped calls to mobiles for 1 hour. To qualify for this plan customers require 2 other BT services on a 2 year contract. The plan is good value to businesses that make higher than average length calls - however a recent survey of 2 million calls carried out by Telecost suggests that the average call length is less than 112.seconds - therefore for most companies lower per minute rates would make more economic sense.
For maximum telecoms savings companies should insure that their phone system is GSM ready. By incorporating GSM gateways UK companies can achieve free office to staff mobile calls & rates of 1.47p per minute to other mobile networks. These deals are more suited to companies with higher call volumes as some development & negotiation is required.
Companies that are thinking of switching to VOIP will need the following:
- phone system that supports SIP or IAX
- access to low contended ADSL or SDSL services
- sufficient bandwidth to insure high quality calls
- ip telephones
- Good advice & careful provisioning from a trustworthy IP Telecoms specialist

Now might be an ideal time to consider making money online in a home based business opportunity. As I mentioned in an earlier article, with the slumping economy as well as the high cost of fuel, more and more people are looking into home based businesses and online marketing. Here are some other considerations.
If you just starting a business, why not think about starting it in your home? You don’t have to search for office space or get into the nitty-gritty of leases. And if your business is online, you don’t have to be concerned about your location. This might give you some tax write-offs also, but please check with your accountant.
Think of working from wherever you wish. Take a vacation to a tropical island, and with technology being what it is, you can take your work - if that’s what yo want to call it. Being online means that you can market to the world, from anywhere in the world.
You’ll have an opportunity to set your own hours. Something is pressing and needs attention, work extra hours and late into the night. Everything caught up and a little bit ahead of schedule, take some time off. Its really that easy.
A big advantage of the freedom you have as far as where you work and when you work, is the amount of time you can share with your loved ones. If you’re a father and enjoy sports, for example, you might be able to attend some of your children’s games.
For those with children, if you choose, you can raise your own children. Instead of putting them in daycare, if you’d like you can keep them at home. As they get older, you can choose to home school them instead of sending them off every morning. Think of actually participating in your children’s upbringing on a full time basis.
You’ll have a shorter commute. I tell people that my commute is 22 steps, its true. With a shorter commute you will not only save on fuel costs, you’ll also save on the everyday wear and tear on your vehicle. Heck, with one or both spouses working from home, you might be able to eliminate one vehicle. Think of the saving.
You’ll certainly go to the dry cleaners less frequently. When working from home, you can wear almost anything, although I doubt many actually work in their pajamas or underwear. By choosing to be more comfortable, you also reduce the dry cleaning expense.
You can actually eat the healthiest diet available. By working at home you will have the opportunity to purchase and prepare all of your own food, if you choose. Not to say that you won’t go out to eat to celebrate your triumphs. However, think about how good you could feel, knowing exactly what’s on your plate. Again, you’ll most likely find yourself saving money here as well.
Another great reason is your overall health. Working at home, with a flexible schedule, will give you time to exercise and take care of your health. You can join a gym and actually use it to work out, or if you’d like, you can simply take a walk at a brisk pace three or four times per week. You’ll probably feel better and live longer.
If you have thought about online marketing in the past but haven’t made the move, think about these things. There is a very large community of online marketers that encircles the globe. Wouldn’t you like to be part of it?

As we all have been reading, online video consumption growth rates have soared over the past year especially due to broadband growth and penetration. As a result, video sharing and video search website have realize a much stronger traffic scenario whereby advertisers and marketers are spending and are poised to spend just short of $1billion in online video advertising this year.
Due to the overwhelming demand from advertisers to develop effective methods for online video advertising delivery, some of the online video sharing giants have implemented various forms of online video ad formats. Historically, in-stream ads, also known as pre-roll ads, mid-roll, and post-roll, have been the dominant standard in terms of the format most advertisers gravitated towards due to the prominence of the ad content itself.
Pre-Roll Format - Ads, typically videos in duration of 15 or 30 seconds are streamed before the video itself plays. This make the advertising incredibly prominent but causes plenty of issues with regard to user friendliness and many studies show this format to be unpopular with users.
Post-roll Video Ads: In post-roll ads, just like pre-roll, a 15 or 30 sec clip is streamed at the end of a video itself. This is usually launched in conjunction with pre-roll as well as often times, the advertiser never gets their ad seen as users most often only watch part of the video.
Mid-Roll Format - With mid-rolls, a short clip is streamed in the middle (sometimes every X minutes) of video content that is playing. This tends to be less annoying to users as they are acustomed to this format in television advertising.
Some of the video sites have started experimenting with different formats like, in-player banners: In-player ads sometimes include relevant text or image advertisements in the space available in video player between the outer margin of the video and the inner margin of the video player.
One of the most promising video advertisement formats is contextual advertising which attempts to match advertisements with the most relevant content and visa-versa. This ad itself can take of various different forms, in-video banners, lower-thirds, and contextual text overlay advertisements. The nice thing about this particular method is that it does not disturb the viewing of the video and it responds only when the viewer clicks on it.
One of the most popular version of contextual video advertising is that of what is known as the “overlay ad.” In this format, relevant textual ads are scrolled or displayed across a small portion of the video screen (usually the bottom). Users in particular prefer this format as it is relatively unobtrusive.
Although there are a few other formats that are being tested and utilized, the formats that I covered are the most commonly used formats at the moment. That being said, with the attention on this sector as it is, we will likely continue to see rapid innovation and will keep our eye out for the next best online video ad format.

A doorbell is a very important part of your home, it is used when your guests or unexpected visitors pop in to visit you. If you don’t have a doorbell then you simply won’t know that people are at your door. You don’t need to employ anyone to fix your doorbell, it is possible to do it by yourself. This is one of the simplest and easiest electrical projects which you can do by yourself.
Installation
This is the best DIY project for a beginner to start using. The easiest form of installing a doorbell is if there isn’t already one fitted. If you don’t already have a doorbell then you could consider buying a wireless doorbell.
A wireless doorbell is a radio transmitter and receiver which means you don’t need to use wires to connect the two units together.
There are some advantages to use wireless doorbells, including:
If you have poor hearing then you can use more than one receiver plugged into different electrical outlets around the house. This allows you to hear the bell wherever you are in the house.
These do not require any wiring and are powered by a small battery which lasts for a very long time.
Replacing a wired doorbell is quick compared to many other DIY projects, however wireless ones are even quicker than this! The longest time will be spent choosing the finish of alarm you want to use.
Replacing an existing bell
If your old bell has broken and needs replacing then you have a few options. If you don’t have much time then you can simply get rid of the wires and install one of the wireless models. This is very simple and easy.
When replacing a wired doorbell then it won’t normally take a very long time. Assuming of course the wire itself is not damaged. The only tools you will need are a new bell push and a screwdriver. You may also need some wire strippers.
You should really turn of the electricity when doing this. Although doorbells are low voltage and only use 12 volts it is possible to do this without turning the power off. If you have even the smallest hint that this uses higher voltage or are not sure then switch the power off.
Start by taking the old bell push off, just remove the screws and pull the switch off. Pull the wires out and throw away the old switch.
If required you should trim the wires and strip some of the insulation off them.
Connect the wires into the connection lock in the new bell push and tighten the terminals with your simple hand tools. It doesn’t matter which order these are connected as it will work either way around, it’s just a switch!
Fix the new switch and push the wires back through the holes so that it fits flush against the doorframe. As soon as you’ve switched the power back on it should already be working. All you need to do is test the switch to see if it works.
You could also change the chime unit too if wanted. You need to follow a similar procedure as this however the direction the wires are connected can make a difference and cause it to operate in reverse.

The basis of a good PPC campaign is choosing the right list of keywords. It’s vital to be sure that you’ve searched and researched high quality keywords and phrases to get the best results. Make a long list, and check out all the avenues open to you. Start with a very popular keyword - for instance, “credit”. Lots of people search for this word every day. However, it’s hard to rank well for this term, since it’s also used by plenty of other advertisers. How can you improve your chances? Broaden your scope to include related terms.
Consider how searchers could be using the keyword in question. Someone searching for the word “credit” may be attempting to find out ways to get a credit report, ways to improve personal credit which lenders will give loans to people with poor credit or ways to consolidate credit card debit. When you’ve gotten a range of concepts that the word could be related to, then try to condense them a bit.
These longer concepts become a series of terms that people search for, all related to your basic keyword. “Credit” becomes “free credit report”, “get better credit”, “bad credit loan” and “consolidate credit cards”. There are lots of other options, and these words are just a little different from the original keyword. You can keep expanding from there.
Stick to the basic concept, but expand your horizons. There are plenty of credit related search terms, like the names of the individual bureaus, consolidation companies and more. Mix them in as part of your first list, and you’ll have created a number of different keyword groups from just one starting term. Go on to create ad groups made up entirely of consolidation companies, for instance.
Add an extension, such as .org, .net, or .com to the end of the search term, or consider the extension of a country you’re targeting. It doesn’t even matter if that domain doesn’t exist. Some people still type this kind of search term in. You’ll expose them to your ads, increasing your chances of a well targeted click.
Remember to avoid very general keywords. There’s too much competition for these. Instead, expand on related terms, and rephrase existing keyword phrases. It’s easy to turn “free credit report” around to get “credit report free”. While the concept is the same, this phrase will reach a different set of viewers. Just ask yourself what your target audience is going to search for, and use the answers to that question to choose your keyword groups. Remember that search terms can be in an unusual order.
It’s not all there is to a good PPC campaign, but a good keyword list is the foundation of one that works. Explore all your options and pick the right words, then track their progress to be sure your campaign is a successful one.
