With thousands of web hosting companies in the market it can be difficult if not impossible to know which web site hosting companies truly provide an excellent hosting solution at an excellent price. When you have an established domain name with a good web hosting company, you can get reports on your traffic and which of your pages your customers are visiting most often, as well as many other statistics.
Your web host will charge you a fee for monthly service that ranges from $10 or $20 to the more expensive $50.00 per month. Plan to pay between $300 and $500 per year to your web host.
Discounts and incentives are great but to find truly reliable web hosting you have to look way beyond exciting freebies and focus on the fundamentals of a good web hosting provider. Take a look at their website and look for concrete explanations as to what they really offer you as a customer. A web host that tells you “We’ve Been Rated #1 in the Web Hosting Business” isn’t telling you anything useful, how exactly does that statement solve your problem? how does it help with your needs? You need details. What features come with the various packages that they offer ?
What hosting platforms are they running and what services do they provide that satisfy your hosting requirements? You need to see detailed information concerning what they provide for each dollar you spend. Look less at their cool website design and focus more about what they have to offer.
Using one of your keywords in your domain name can increase your score on some search engines. For example, solderingirons.com could be more effective as Electric-soldering-irons.com, if that domain name was available.
You might also choose to establish more than one domain name using keywords and then link your ‘doorway’ domain sites to your primary site. But you will have to pay for each of the domain name and also the monthly hosting fees. It all depends on the type and size of your business and your competition.
Keep in mind that some search engines disregard ‘doorway’ sites. So put at least a page of content on the doorway site with some useful information and then link it to your primary site. But don’t design it as an empty page. The other reason being, you can have one, three, five, or even more email addresses that all contain your business name, and give your business a professional feel. When customers get emails from dominicstone@solderingirons.com they feel as if they are dealing with a stable, professional business operation.
Financial Stability: If you’re running very critical operations, you can’t afford to be with a hosting company that may not be in business in a few months.

The most important goal when choosing your domain name is to seduce visitors to have the desire to enter them in their browsers. It is like how book covers are to novels.
Being overly creative with domain names, however, does not mean that you’ve chosen a good domain name either. Your creativeness may be appealing to you, but search engine bots won’t be able to index it in search engine listings. Thus, when choosing domain names you want your domain name to be both catchy yet search engine optimized using a specific keyword.
Before choosing your domain name, you want to do some research on finding a search engine keyword that can be incorporated into your domain name. A keyword analyzer can assist you in this task. These can be found easily with a basic search engine query.
Using the keyword analyzer, simply enter one keyword or phrase that best explains your website. Then choose one of the keyword results that best describes the purpose of your website. By doing so, your domain name will become search engine optimized and be attractive to search engine bots.
Now you can begin selecting your actual domain name. Almost all domain name companies will allow you to see whether or not your domain name is available. If it is not available, it will return a list of recommended domain names. This could help you greatly when it comes to choosing your domain name.
If your keyword is not available as a domain name, take a look at the suggested domain names the domain name companies give you. If the main keyword is included in the suggested domain names and it ends with .com, consider taking it. Otherwise, you will have to be more creative.
You can be more creative with your domain name and still use your keyword by using ‘filler’ words, numbers, or phrases. You can incorporate fillers such as ‘a,’ ‘an’ or ‘the’ before your keyword or number fillers at the end of the phrase.
Search engines tend to not look at these words, so you still have a good shot at getting indexed while having a domain name that is attractive.
What if you do these things and you still can’t get .com? Well, there are some situations where it is better to use extensions other than .com because the keyword is just that popular. Extensions that still get credit include .net, .biz and .org.
Also, you could consider using country or state-based extensions depending on the nature of your website. It’s better to be found in the first page of France’s Google than to be found at page 20 of America’s version of Google.

Never fear the acronym, at its core, all a DDNS is a service that maps domain names to IP addresses. Hopefully, you are aware of what both IP addresses and domain names are. I thought not. By definition, an IP address is an Internet Protocol address assigned to individual computers in any given network. They are assigned a sequence of numbers known as the Ipv4 and Ipv6 conventions, which can look like 220.11.243.163 (for IPv4), and 2020:db9:1:1234:6:878:2:9 (for IPv6).
A domain name, on the other hand, is the alphanumeric name of a site. For example: www.example.org is a domain name, which should not be confused with an URL, which is a story for a different day. Now, to stop Internet users from hyperventilating, a DDNS creates a 1:1 ratio between an IP address and a domain name. This saves time and prevents countless cases of Carpel-Tunnel Syndrome.
It is not the case, thanks to DNS servers, that users direct one another to visit the 208.21.188.166 page. Not only would it seriously hamper the speed with which users access the Internet, but it would seriously hamper business and advertising concerns. Being asked to visit page 205.11.199.199 for the latest Apple iPods is counter-intuitive. Perhaps Rutger Hauer, playing Roy Batty, said it best when he insisted: “We’re not machines — we’re physical.” Indeed we are, and we like names for places, not numbers.
As a result, a DDNS handles the numeric values, and allows us to indulge in the alphanumeric. Page 225.12.165.109 now becomes www.roybatty.net, for instance. Knowing that this transference, for the lack of better term, occurs instantaneously is not something most people are aware of. Even otherwise tech-savvy users have little frame of reference. Even fewer people are aware of the fact that a DDNS service enables email contact.
As email addresses also use IP address naming conventions, being asked to write someone at 222.33.123.909 is completely unfeasible and time-consuming. So the DDNS routes electronic missives to the appropriate alphanumeric address. The benefits of a DDNS service are as obvious as they are unknown.
About the Author:
If you’re interested in having your domain name hosted, it would behoove you to look into a reliable DDNS service. The right DDNS service will ensure your site is always found, despite the ever-shifting IP naming conventions.

Almost everyone seems to have his or her own page on the internet, and it could be personal or for business. It is not very difficult anymore, and also cheaper, to design your own page. Only ‘techies’ used to build web pages. Some time ago you needed to know HTML (hyper-text markup language) to create a page, but nowadays there are many possibilities for creating websites that don’t involve teaching yourself a difficult code. One program to use is Microsoft’s FrontPage, which is a WYSWYG editor (What You See Is What You Get). This software have been developed to build web pages as if you were writing a document, and includes easy drag and drop features for images. With some practice you can make it look the way you want it to, or, for a more professional design you can buy templates to use.
So, now hopefully resting assured that your personal website needn’t appear the other side of a lengthy computer programming course, you are ready to see what else is needed.
The name of a website is called a domain. Before you can get your page on the web, you have to buy a domain name for your personal or company’s place on the web. For instance: Ebay’s domain name is ebay.com.
You have to choose one of the companies that safe all your files needed on Internet. These are called Web Hosts. They generally charge monthly for the service provided.
The next stage to build your Web page
If you need a web site that gives your visitors only basic information, you can buy WYSIWYG software, which can cost at least a couple of hundred dollars. For more advanced communication and features, like a shopping cart (with which you can safely offer your product for sale online), coupons, a message board, mailing list and other features, you could maybe use this easy to use site builder at internetbasedfamily.com. Here you will find a service that helps you create web pages that look professional with many features in only minutes. Often they combine this with hosting your web site on the Internet and selling you a domain name. To make sure this is the best tool to make your website with you will get a free 10-day trial.
Despite what you might have thought, it’s not that difficult to create a website. It will only take a domain name, a web host, and web building software with a point-and-click feature.
About the Author:
Looking for an even easier option to build your web pages? Take the comprehensive easy website builder for a 10-day free trial. The big decision has been made…you want to start your own business. Let me be the first to congratulate you! Your next important decision is to chose a domain name that is going to be a perfect fit for you and your business.
You want to get this part correct right at the beginning, because if you choose something that doesn’t work, it will be a pain to change everything over later on.
So here are five major mistakes people make when picking a domain name for themselves:-
* THE DOMAIN NAME HAS VERY LITTLE RELEVANCE TO YOUR BUSINESS. This is a very serious mistake because when prospects reach your website and you are not providing them with the information they are expecting, then they are going to quickly leave your site, never to return again. You want to choose a name that will immediately tell your prospect something about your business and what they can expect when they visit your site.
* THEY DO NOT CHOOSE THEIR OWN PERSONAL NAME. It is definitely a good idea to purchase your own name to use as your domain. You might not be in a position to use it for one of your sites right away, but I would suggest you go ahead and purchase it now anyway. Just imagine if, in the future, you become very successful and go to purchase your name, only to find that someone else has beaten you to it. There are those that would try to capitalize on your success by blantantly using your name. There is a very well known internet guru that this happened to. He now has to use dashes and tags to be able to use his own name.
* THEY CHOOSE DOMAINS THAT ARE CONFUSING. You want to get a domain that is easily understood. There are going to be times when you are reciting your website address to people over the phone. You want to avoid any confusion. For example, if your website was ‘helpforyou.com’ people might try to type in ‘help4you.com’. I recommend you stay away from using numbers that could also be words.
* THEY PUT DASHES IN BETWEEN THE WORDS IN THEIR DOMAIN NAME. You want a name that is easy to type. If you are like me, you find it an annoyance to type dashes in between words. It doesn’t make for easy typing so avoid this if at all possible.
* THEY DON’T CHOOSE A DOMAIN NAME WITH LASTING POWER. Just remember that the name you choose is going to identify your business. If you are hoping to be in business for a long time, then don’t use something that is trendy and might not have any relevance in a year or so. Remember, trends come and go.
If you take these five things into consideration when you are choosing your domain name, then you should end up with something that you are going to be happy with and that represents you in the way you want it to.
Remember, your domain name is like a personal snapshot of you and your business…make sure it depicts you in the best possible light.

In today’s times, a trustworthy website hosting service has become a very important criterion of an online business. That is why, as a Webmaster, you should know all the important features of a website hosting service provider before selecting one:
Disk space: One of the most pivotal concerns that any Webmaster always has is the disk space. It makes sense because larger the disk space, you can definitely have more information in your website. With a space of only 20 MB, you can only have text in your site. But to make the web site more entertaining, and to add graphics and animation, more disk space is required. One should make sure that he is promised a disk space of at least 1GB which equals 1024 MBs to have a desirable website.
Bandwidth is also another important factor that that can have an impact on the online presence in the long run. It determines the data transfer or downloads that your website can allow to its visitors. Usually all web hosting service providers supply a monthly supply of bandwidth to their users. Ask for a bandwidth of more than 5GB if you want to have an enormous amount of visitors on your site.
File transfer protocol is another facility that can be extremely useful when you want to upload your website to the host’s computer. With unlimited FTP, it would of quite convenience to you upload your website easily.
Technical support, offered 24/7 is a must if you want your website to be continuously present on the net. It can be quite hassling if you are not able to avail any troubleshooting help, in a case if a server crashes down. In a situation, without any help, you would be losing all the important prospective customers.
One should always have a record of the site statistics so that there is a continuous track of how any people is constantly surfing your site. These numbers merely give you an idea of how well your site is faring and an idea of the efforts that have to be put in further.
Provision of email addresses is also important for the success of a site. Always look for a service provider that is able to provide you with the maximum number of multiple email addresses. In my opinion, all the above-mentioned features can guarantee that your site scores well with the users. There can also be more important addons like use of the right scripting languages like (PHP, PERL, CGI, SSI) to go well with your site.
In the end, reliability of the service provider is a very crucial determinant that ensures the success of your site. All that needs for a high traffic is a site that is present all the time and behind it a web host that keeps it running ad infinitum. A site that has a high uptime has higher chances of winning customers. Always look at the uptime guarantees of website service providers, that should not be less than 99.9%, before picking up one.

Are you looking for a way to make an income online? Then why not consider getting involved in domain name parking? This is one way of you being able to make money through an online business even if you have never had such a business before. So how does one get involved in domain name parking? In this article we look at some of the things involved when it comes to this type of online business.
1. Firstly you need to know just what of the domains available the ones you should be parking is. Spend time watch items on the internet that are new and which are proving to be very popular and if you can before anyone else does purchase the .com name that relates to it.
Once purchased you just park it and watch it earn you an income. Then later on you may find somebody approaches you to purchase it for an amount that is considerably more than you first paid for it. If you want to increase the earning potential of any domain name that you park then it is worth considering adding affiliate marketing ads or banners or advertisements to its landing page. By doing this you will find that it is making you a regular income without you actually having to do anything.
2. When it comes to the purchasing or reserving of domain names you should never wait too long before you do. If you wait too long then someone else is likely to beat you to it and then use it for their own purposes to make an income online from it. Then when you do finally decide that this is the domain you want you may find yourself having to purchase it for a much higher price than you would have initially.
3. You need to be aware that it is going to take time and see things go your way. Certainly domain name parking is not for those who are not willing to dedicate time, effort and money into registering their domains and then building it up. However, you have the choice if you want to employ a company to manage the domains for you but in return they will require a share of any profits you make from it.
Be wary when you are thinking of going down this particular route. Many of these companies who wish you to sign up with them will offer incentives that you see as cheap such as registering domains cheaply for you but will expect more from you later. So spend time looking closely at what each of these companies have to offer and determine what it is they want in return for you employing them.
4. There are plenty of domain name parking options available to you and if you are having problems with coming up with an appropriate one then there are companies that can help you with this. These ones will provide you with similar names to the others that are popular and which are getting lots of traffic to them. So you then have an opportunity to piggy back these and so earn an income from the name you have selected whilst it is parked.
In this article we have looked at some of the things with relation to domain name parking that you may find helpful. When it comes to learning more about this type of online business there is a wealth of advice and information available on the internet. However, if you wish your domain name parking business to succeed you need to be willing to dedicate not just money but time and effort in to find the names which are most suitable.
