Since then, I’ve begun seeing and hearing some things that worry me. I have seen many groups popping up. Some of these groups have names like Lone Wolf or Independent Riders. While I suppose the names are meant to distance these groups from real motorcycle clubs, they still resemble legitimate clubs in the way they dress, and to a certain degree, the way they act.

Now I am sure some of you are saying “hey LJ these guys just want to do their own thing back off a bit, what really is the harm in what these guys are doing?” Well that’s the Million dollar Question! Exactly what is the real harm? Let me see if I can explain how I see it.

If you put on a uniform, pinned on a badge and hung out at Dunkin Donuts you may look like and act like a cop but you would not be a real cop. When a real cop saw you, You would probaly be in a lot of trouble!

Now due to High Gas Prices, The Economy, and people waking up to the fact that riding a Motorcycle is one of the Greatest things in the world, the ranks of motorcycle riders have exploded. Many of these new riders see shows like Sons Of Anarchy, Gangland or movies like Hell Ride and think, “This is cool, I’m going to start a Club” even though they know nothing about Motorcycle Clubs or the Biker lifestyle.

Shows like Sons of Anarchy are a fictional dramatization of what a group of television writers think a Motorcycle Club is. Programs like Gangland claim to investigate 1%er Clubs. Their “investigation consists of looking up every little Crime members of a 30 year old Motorcycle Club have ever been accused of and then Squeeze all the Negative info about the MC into about 45 Minutes of air time.

The concern is that you have new and independent riders forming “Clubs” with no real knowledge of what it means to be a member of a Motorcycle Club. Some of these clubs are forming with only shows like SOA and Gangland as the model for what a Motorcycle Club should be.

Being a member of a Motorcycle Club is about Brotherhood, Loyalty, Respect, Freedom, and Honor. It’s not about Drugs, Guns, and Biker Wars.

In the Motorcycle Club world you start off as either a prospect for an established Motorcycle Club or your new MC starts off as a Supporter of a established MC and they help to teach you what it truly means to be a Member of a Motorcycle Club.

It’s like an artist taking on an apprentice and passing on what he has learned. The knowledge he passes on has been passed on down to him for Hundreds of Generations.

Now where the danger lies is the art being taught can be thousands of years old but, It only takes one generation of not passing the right information down and the art is lost forever!

With the creation of so many pseudo MC’s, We risk a danger a lot worse than losing the art of what a Motorcycle Club is all about , We risk watching the Mutation of the World We all Love turned into something as ugly as the negative, hyped up TV Shows and movies we’ve all seen.

If your thinking about starting a Motorcycle Club or want to join one, start by talking to local Club members you see at events or contact established Clubs directly. Every MC has its own set of rules, etc, but if you’re serious about becoming an MC or MC Member, you’ll have no problem finding the situation that is right for you. As I said in the beginning, I have no problem with people starting their own Clubs. It’s just that starting a Motorcycle Club is something that should be done the right way and not be taken lightly. Although PLR products come with different rights, it is most common to think of Private Label Rights products as products that you, after having edited them, can put your own name as author on.

My proposal in the present article is that you may want to use Private Label Rights e books as a starting point for your own ebook project. There are actually many authors who are producing their ebooks this way, and it is fully legal to do so, assuming that you are very careful to read and follow the legal rights of the particular PLR product you have acquired. In fact, many writers not only produce ebooks this way, but also use PLR articles to create large websites with many articles.

So how can you then make money on using modified PLR ebooks? There are, certainly, many ways to do that. But here are three ways that may be of interest: (1) Sell the ebook on your website; (2) Give the ebook away for free when prospective customers opt-in to your newsletter emailing list. (3) Give the e-book away as a bonus when visitors buy other products from you.

1. Sell Your Ebook and Make Money

The most obvious idea would possibly be to put up your ebook on your website or blog in order to sell it for a certain retail price. The price may of course differ, depending on whether it is a petite ebook or a large one. If you have an ebook that has only 20 pages the price may be something like $7 or $17; but if you have a bigger ebook (100-250 pages), it would not be unheard of selling it for something like $57 or $67.

But don’t sell it too cheap (unless it is part of a multi-campaign, in which you are aiming to promote a much more expensive ebook or ecourse, etc.); customers do relate price to product quality and overall product image.

2. Give Your Ebook Away for Free

Giving away a PLR ebook for free may be a great way to get visitors to sign up on your autoresponder newsletter list. That, in itself, is worth a lot, assuming that you have other products (e.g. ebooks) or services (e.g. education) that you are planning to market to them.

After being on your email list for a while, and after having read your free e book, they will come to respect you as an expert. Then, when they encounter a product of yours that they actually can use, they will surely buy. Remember though, that this may be a gradual process, and that all subscribers to your emailing list will not be buyers after only two or three emails.

3. Give Your PLR E-book Away as a Bonus

Yet another thought is to use your rewritten PLR ebook as bait for marketing some other product, either yours or someone else’s. But be aware: some PLR product licenses do not allow the products being handed out as bonuses. So please read and re-read the PLR license agreement very carefully.

So when you, for instance, sell your new video set, you could offer also your e book about the same, or neighbouring, topic. Or you can use your bonus e-book to create a bundle for someone else’s product. In any case, the main product and the bonus e book must typically be in the same or neighbouring niche, or be strongly related in some other fashion, in order for the bonus to actually work as “added value”. If perceived by the potential buyer as an “added value”, it may very well be the difference between him buying your main product or not.

Rewriting Your PLRs

It is important to note that even if you buy a Private Label Rights product, you still have to put in a fair amount of work to make it unique. Your objective should be to make it suit your customers’ needs as well as possible, while still making it fit in with your own set of products.

So when you revise a PLR e-book or PLR article, you may try to improve it not only in a stylistic sense to make its voice “sound more like you”, but also to adjust and expand on facts, figures, illustrations, and links. This will ensure that your e-book will be more unique and of better quality, and that it may also be better positioned in relation to all of your other ebooks and products that you are offering on your website.

The thing that I don’t understand is, some people actually believe everything they see on TV or read in the paper or on the Internet. You can tell people the Sky is falling but if it wasn’t reported on CNN, People will just think your some kind of crazy Chicken Little. Chunks of the sky could be hitting them in the head and they still wouldn’t believe it. If CNN reports that the Sky is Falling and states the reason as “human over consumption of oxygen”, people start trying to figure out how to stop breathing so they can stop the Sky from falling. It doesn’t matter if the real reason is some new Military Toxin.

Let’s say there is some national disaster and you say something different from the official Government release on why and how it happened. Now you’re some kind of crazy Conspiracy Nut. Again It doesn’t matter what kind of proof you have, what kind of scientific evidence you try and present, you’re just a nut and no one wants to listen to you. Because We all know the United States Government would never lie to us. They’d never conspire against the people of this country. Anyone remember The “Gulf of Tonkin” incident? Iran/Contra? Weapons of Mass Destruction?

We’re used to hearing about the Government Controlled Media in places like China and Russia, but what of the “News” media in the United States? Just a few months ago our Government was besieged with letters, email, and phone calls by people who were vehemently against the so-called Wall Street Bail-Out. At first the measure failed. CNN broadcast a week of programming designed to “educate” us stupid Americans on the reasons why we needed to pay for this bail-out. The next week it passed.

This is not the “Free Press” our founding fathers envisioned. Our founding fathers envisioned a “Free Press” that would help to keep our Politicians and our Government honest, as a way to speak out against injustices, not an “education” tool.

What has happen to the Spirit of the American people? When did we stop demanding to know the truth about what is going on? When did the Truth get too hard for us to handle? Is it fear? It seems every time someone uses the phrase “National Security”, that somehow, we understand that’s all we need to know. Is it apathy? What happened to the days of protest, the intolerance of greed and corruption? Throughout History there are examples of great Societies that have fallen, not from outside forces, but from corruption within.

We live in a world of the Future where things that seemed impossible yesterday are common place by tomorrow. For some of us, we’re too busy trying to make it to tomorrow to worry about what is happening politically in the World. We’re too busy working and taking care of our families to seek the truth or get involved with some kind of cause. Many still believe that eventually the Government will take care of us, that despite the loss of our industry, the loss of our jobs, the loss of our freedoms, and the lowering of our standard of living, the Governments still have our best interests at heart.

When we see Governments around the World curtailing our right of assembly, our freedom of speech, do we stand up or do we accept it? Lately, it seems that these political entities have been giving those of us in Motorcycle Clubs a little extra attention. Why is that? Most Motorcycle Clubs are made up of principled, patriotic men who value family, brotherhood and their communities above all else. Many are Veterans of Wars past and present. Why are we viewed as Radicals & Extremists? The Governments of the world have begun pushing hard to break us up, shut us down. As a Biker and a Member of a Motorcycle Club I see many injustices taking place all over the world.

I have seen Motorcycle Clubs names and logos seized in dirty under handed methods. Large Clubs charged with Crimes and their members locked away. Government Agents inserted into clubs for years so that they can introduce drugs and violence into the clubs in an effort to bring them down. Ex Members and “friends” of Motorcycle Clubs offered Millions of Dollars if they can come up with charges against these Motorcycle Clubs!

Just as in any culture or society, there are going to be a few bad apples. The problem is, the Government and the Media have conspired to paint everyone in the Biker World with the same brush. I’ll bet it takes you 5 seconds to think of a News Story, Movie, or Documentary that you’ve seen portraying Bikers negatively, but I bet you can’t think of one that shows us feeding the poor, protecting the children, or raising money for every disease known to man.

Watching Motorcycle Clubs slowly being taken down in such blatantly unjust ways is scaring the hell out of me. What makes me sad is at the same time these wolves are getting through the gate and destroying the MC world, Many Motorcycle Clubs continue to fight against each other! These fights are embellished and sensationalized on TV and in the press. They are then used by the Governments of the world as the fuel they need to continue to shut down all Motorcycle Club’s.

Motorcycle Clubs, much like the United States of America, were started with incredible Ideals. Both set down on paper what they were about and what they stood for. It is time for both Motorcycle Clubs and Americans to get back to their core beliefs. I believe with all my Heart that true Members of Motorcycle Clubs hold the ideals of Freedom and Brotherhood higher than any other group anywhere.

As I have said many times before I am no Hippie and I do not preach peace or love, I am a true Biker! It is just that I have realized “Rome is burning” and only by working together can we hope to be able to stop the fire! Motorcycle Clubs are like people and not everyone will always get along, We are always going to have our differences.

What needs to happen now is for members of every Motorcycle Club in the World to look deep inside and ask themselves, “What is the most important thing to me?” If you truly believe in Motorcycle Club Brotherhood, and you have felt true Motorcycle Club Brotherhood, the answer will be simple. We as members of Motorcycle Clubs, need to set aside our differences and unite as one so that we may work together to save the Motorcycle Club world! We must fight against those who would take away everything we are and have us live as slaves.

Next time you hear that a Government or one of its agents has brought down another Brother or a Motorcycle Club you didn’t like, don’t celebrate, because the next time it will be you and your club. They won’t stop until we are all gone.

Discovering the ‘thumbscrews’ of investors is crucial to getting them to take action. In over a decade of dealing with global investors there are several elements that I’ve discovered to be universal truths about the mind of the private investor (angel investor, accredited investor).

When talking to an investor for the first time, it’s more important to listen than to speak. It’s more important to ask questions than answer them. It’s more important to discover their needs and wants than to exclaim your own. Your first conversation with an investor should be all about piercing the armor and finding the trigger points that prompt a reaction that gets to the center of their ‘childlike’ state.

What I mean by this is, investors, just like anyone else, has insecurities that are rooted in their childhood and what they are outwardly today, is typically a polar opposite of what they are on the inside. For example, an arrogant, chest beater seems proud and obnoxious on the outside but the reality is that they are over compensating for an insecurity that is rooted in an individual or collection of childhood incidents.

Maybe they were made fun of as a child, maybe they’re father was verbally abusive, maybe their teachers would single them out in class opening them up to playground mockery. When talking to these individuals it’s important to listen to their voice and intonation when the conversation topic changes. Take notes on their psychological adjustments to the conversation. After you feel you have discovered the triggers that induce the ‘pleasurable’ responses, end the call, and set your second phone appointment with them.

On that second call, you want to have your conversation ready to go using the triggers you found in the first conversation. Play off of those insecurities that you found, become their best friend without being chummy but it is your mission on this call to be the “guy that understand me” to the investor. You want the overall tone of this conversation to have the response from your target along the theme of, “wow, this guy gets me” , “I can see investing in this company”.

By using this method and not coming across as ‘fake’, you have become an investment opportunity and a shrink all rolled into one. You want to be the one person that this investor can lower his guard to because everything he says, you seem to be the one person who understands him at his deepest level. You seem to naturally be tuned into his insecurities, emotions, needs and wants. Sound strange? Try this out on the next investor you talk to, I guaranty you will be shocked with the results.

The psychological profile of business proprietors and entrepreneurs in general boasts the critical ‘Risk Taker’ element which allows one to take the leap from the financial security of a 9 - 5 job to the dicey waters of action based, success based income generation meaning: No Sales = No Money and No Food.

Many of these risk takers function within the realm of right brain communicative as opposed to left brain analytical which passes over the critical detail oriented solutions that are mandatory for raising capital. The second thing you must do is read and absorb the knowledge in such books as “The 48 Laws of Power” and “The 33 Strategies of War” by Robert Greene and of course “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu. These books deal with strategy that can easily be translated into the business world and can help you prepare mentally for the art of fund-raising. Read these books cover to cover and then read them again. Absorb the intricacies and strategies that these books offer and make it a point to use these concepts in your daily professional life; believe me, you’ll be glad you did.

The next thing you want to do is to study great strategists like Napoleon and Machiavelli. One thing that you will realize almost instantly is that these investors are out for their own gain, period (Why wouldn’t they?). They will try to attract your attention with the right hand while their left hand is reaching in your financial records looking for chinks in your corporate armor to make their case for more equity for less investment. You need to be able to analyze, not just the words of the investor but also all the other elements of their expression such as: intonation, facial gestures, eye movement, standing and sitting positions and other ‘tells’ that can give you an insight to what they are truly trying to communicate so you can anticipate their next move. These are just a few things to consider before entering the world of venture capital. Raising money for a business is a daunting task only to the unprepared.
