For many, web design is a difficult challenge. If a company is well financed, it is probable they will just throw some money at the hottest design firm in town and get snowed and overpay due to their own lack of understanding of the process. But the vast majority of web design and web design needs stem from small business and personal web sites where money is absolutely of concern and for most the ability to produce a site on their own seems far from grasp.
But now with the help of easy to use web design programs such as Dreamweaver and iWeb, even a fairly technologically inept user can at least get “something” going design and layout wise. But “something” is hardly enough for most of us, so how do we improve upon our sites when the knowledge base that created them was dealing in limited capacity from the outset? Why, 3rd party web vendors of course! And recently I discovered my new favorite for all things web design related.
A friend turned me on to GRSites.com a while back and I haven’t gone elsewhere for 3rd party design assistance since. The web design tools they have available are extensive and robust. From buttons, textured backgrounds and fonts to unique font logos, menus and text boxes, they have virtually every type of wing ding available for download and use on your own personal or small business site.
Their online portal is fantastic. If you want a button for your site but they don’t have exactly what you are looking for, you can simply create it using a very simple to understand GUI that will kick out both a graphical display for your download and the html code that would create in an html editor. Simply phenomenal.
But simple text boxes are just scratching the surface. They also have portals for every item imaginable. Create your own logo with blur, glow or crumpled paper effects just to name a few. Or perhaps you need some unique buttons, no problem, their GUI is there and waiting for you.
It is rare I take the time to write about 3rd party vendors I use but as the market becomes more and more crowded with garbage I think it is important to bring quality sites to the forefront. I hope other web consultants can benefit from the knowledge of GRsites web design tools as much as I have. Check it out for your next project.
If you are bummed out and the budget has run dry but the site isn’t finished, check out GRSites !

Web design is all about displaying the content of a website in an appealing layout for end users. It is a comprehensive domain involving development of a layout, graphics and navigation schemes to improve the overall quality of a website.
How the site is designed is important, as serious and committed visitors prefer sites with good designs. Thus looking for a good web design company is essential, and here are some points that should be looked at while making the selection.
The first thing to understand is that you don’t need to stick to local firms. The internet opens the doors to the global market, so you can look for a firm having its office in a different city, or even a firm located abroad, if you think it can address your needs.
You can do a fast research on the web to get a list of good web design firms. There will be several blogs that will judge the benefits and drawbacks of some of these reputed firms and you can make effective use of them. Another great strategy is to study some of the web pages that you find attractive and then try to find out who helped develop them.
Contact the 3 or 4 companies that you have finally listed after rejecting the majority, and ask for information about their past projects in web designing. Study the web designs of these sites and check if they match with your expectations, and if they are convenient to use and visually attractive at the same time.
Among the technologies used to create attractive web designs, PHP, JavaScript, and HTML are the most well-known. The firm you want to appoint must be competent in working with these technologies and the tools that are associated with them. Any of their claims can be verified by analysing the websites designed by them in the past.
Then you have to see if the web design company has the ability to complete your project within the given time limit. Their concern about your deadlines can be somewhat guessed from the way in which the firm’s employees communicate with you and the time they take to respond to any questions that you might put before them.
Lastly, you should carefully consider the budget involved in hiring the services of the web design company. The current rate can be found out by conducting a comparative survey of rates charged by various firms, and you can also drive a hard bargain with the company as competition in the market is quite intense.

An e-commerce payment system facilitates the acceptance of electronic payment for online transactions. Also known as Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), e-commerce payment systems have become increasingly popular due to the widespread use of the internet-based shopping and banking. The smooth operation of payment systems is often taken for granted both in the academic literature on financial integration and in practical policy considerations. In general, the main role of payment system regulators is to provide a level playing field for different service providers. To secure dynamic efficiency, the regulators also need to ensure adequate incentives for innovation and investment. In this respect, it is important that they do not take too restrictive an attitude towards cooperation among payment service providers.
Over the years, credit cards have become one of the most common forms of payment for e-commerce transactions. In North America almost 90% of online B2C transactions were made with this payment type. It would be difficult for an online retailer to operate without supporting credit and debit cards due to its widespread use. Increased security measures such as the use of the card verification number (CVN) which detects fraud by comparing the verification number on the printed on the signature strip on the back of the card with the information on file with the cardholder’s issuing bank. Also online merchants have to comply with stringent rules stipulated by the credit and debit card issuers (Visa and Mastercard) this means that merchants must have security protocol and procedures in place to ensure transactions are more secure. This can also include having a certificate from an authorised certification authority (CA) who provides PKI infrastructure for securing credit and debit card transactions.
A payment service provider (PSP) offers merchants online services for accepting electronic payments by a variety of payment methods including credit card, bank-based payments such as direct debit, bank transfer, and real-time bank transfer based on online banking. Typically, a PSP can connect to multiple acquiring banks, card, and payment networks. In many cases, the PSP will fully manage these technical connections, relationships with the external network, and bank accounts. This makes the merchant less dependent on financial institutions and free from the task of establishing these connections directly - especially when operating internationally. Security technology helps to improve the safety of Internet communications.
Payment systems should allow quick and safe transactions. In fact, if not, our daily lives would be affected very seriously, we should go to the bank every time we wanted to make a payment, would bring stacks of coins and bills, and lose much time queuing to do things that right now could be solved with a credit card with a simple click on the computer.
SSL: The SSL protocol combines symmetric encryption systems and asymmetric encryption systems. SET: Mastercard and Visa developed SEPP (Secure Electronic Payment Protocol) and STT (Secure Transaction Technology) to ensure the economic transactions exclusively using credit cards as payment, although later both entities, with American Express, agreed to join efforts to develop a single protocol for electronic payment cards, called SET. The SET protocol (Secure Electronic Transaction) is a set of rules or safety specifications which are a standard way to perform payment transactions through the Internet. 3D Secure or 3 Domain Secure: has been developed by Visa to verify that the buyer is entitled to use the credit card. It gives to the buyer and to the seller greater certainty in electronic transactions. Its trade name is Verified by Visa. This protocol prevents the fraudulent use of credit cards through the Internet.

These days, many people turn to the internet for their shopping. Because of this, many business owners put up their own websites to spread their products and attract buyers. So, do you have your own business which doesn’t have a webpage yet? The following are some web design benefits that will convince you to use the internet as a powerful tool.
When a store’s display looks catchy, for sure people will stop for a while and browse through. That is why it’s important for your webpage to grab the attention of potential customers. It should attempt to stand out from everything else, but without losing what your product is all about. Many successful entrepreneurs will attest to the power of having a catchy site.
The webpage you put up should itself act as your business catalog. Only this time, you don’t have to pay for expensive printing. When designing one, see to it that it’s neat and appealing enough for visitors to browse through it. While you’re at it, make sure you include photos of your products so customers will have an idea what they look like.
Aside from photos of your products, providing the right details is also essential. There are many reasons why some people shop online. And one of these reasons is they have little free schedule for shopping. If they can find every detail they’re looking for, then it’s likely they’ll stay and shop on your page.
Another good thing about putting up a webpage is customers have access to your items all the time. They can open the site 24/7 - they don’t have to worry about business hours or holidays. But do take note that no one will be around to help visitors navigate the site. The solution? Make sure it’s user-friendly.
When coming up with a website for your business, consider your target buyers. Take for instance you are selling bodybuilding supplements. For sure many men will find it daunting to look for items on a site that looks like it caters to teenage girls. Web design benefits will surely help you rake in profits, provided the online site is executed the right way.
