Does Article Submission work as SEO to increase rankings?

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

Here is an incredible story. On the 20th day in November 2008 I started a brand new website at the url http://www.article-submission-express.com. The site offers a service of submitting a unique article to thousands of internet directories. The idea of the site is to sell the service to the clients. Our target client is the person who wishes to increase their rankings in the SERPs by generating a bunch of relevant, one-way links to their website. On December 7th, as I write this article, just a little over two weeks later, my site is now ranked 101 out of over 15,000,000 results for the term Article Submissions

Since I am testing many methods that the Gurus say work, the only way I have promoted this site is with a few Google Adwords that cost a few bucks a day, and then I submit articles, just like this one that you are reading describing how it works, and what the results are. I am not writing the article today to sell you on my site, I am writing today to tell you that article submission is successful in getting a site indexed quickly and increasing your rank.

Let me begin by telling you as this writing there are 15,200,000 results when you search on Google for article submissions. Wouldn’t you agree that being number 101 after just two weeks and three days out of those results is incredible? I also want to tell you my site was indexed in Google in 3 days. To me, these are incredible results.

I have studied all the gurus of SEO. I studied Aaron Wall, Brad Callen and Brad Fallon. I think these folks are the real people that know what they are doing. I started a few sites, and began experimenting with their different recommended techniques. I have to say of all the methods I have tried, article submissions, and Google Ads have brought me the most results.

I have used code based and black hat techniques like TrafficBoosterPro which I will say worked well, but only for a few days. I was ranked number 60 for one of the most competitive keywords on the internet, I was so excited, then out of the blue ALL of my rankings disappeared. That site has never recovered, I work daily trying to promote it and it doesn’t move. I have also tried to build reciprocal links with other sites. Some say this works, some say this doesn’t work. I tend to agree that it doesn’t work. I see no results from the reciprocal links at all. Plus I always have to work to see if people are linking to me. To top that off, I build two similar sites that contained the same key words, built reciprocal links to one, and nothing to the other, for some very obscure key words, the one with no links outranks the one with reciprocal links. The one with no links, is outranking the one with reciprocal links and it is optimized for certain keywords.

So far on my current site, http://www.article-submission-express.com, I have done two things. I bought Google ads that convert to promote my site until I can get a good organic listing. For those who don’t know Organic Listings are the ones in Google that are free, and you don’t pay per click. Then I submitted articles just like this one to as many directories as possible with a link back like you see below in my resource box.

In all of my studies I have never had this much success. I haven’t used press releases which, by the way, I believe to work wonders, because of the high cost. I didn’t use any link building tactics, or join any link exchanges. I haven’t even traded any links, nor have I even provided code or an option for people to link to my site. I have not used a social networking site like Digg or any other similar site to promote myself. You may wonder why not. It may increase my rankings. Right now, however, my goal is to use a controlled experiment. If I begin doing all these other things, I could not have wrote this article today telling you that this works. I am going to continue doing what I am doing and monitor all the results. Right now, I am at position 101 in Google SERPs so it makes it pretty easy to monitor the results of my actions. You know, the next article I release will probably be a report on what this one did for my rankings.

As always I wish you all the best of look in your search engine optimization efforts. If you are at all interested in having articles submitted, you can find submissions services like mine or my competitors, or you can do it manually. My website, as I said earlier, offers this service and there is a link in the resource box. I do want you to understand and take away from this article, that article submission and writing works, I am not trying to promote my service, but the method in which I optimize my website.

Article Writing: Writing For The Internet

Monday, November 10th, 2008

To be a successful writer for the Internet, you must first select the right approach for writing good pieces of writing. In order to be a paid writer, you have to put your articles on sale, so you must understand the business of selling your content. You must believe that your ideas are better than others. In addition to the qualities required to sell articles for the Internet, there are also specific skills that are needed to write effective online articles.

The Foremost Rule You should write according to the taste of your intended reader, not according to your own personal taste. This means that you need to explore, identify, and target your message towards specific readers with specific interests. For instance, in an article on the financial market you can’t target grandmothers looking for designs of knitting. You need to write your message according to the comprehension of target readers. No one will understand even correct stuff until and unless it is presented properly.

Keep this thing in mind that people who browse Internet are impatient and they click off the material promptly, which they dont consider important and pleasing.

Before you even put pen to paper, ask yourself this important question: Who are your readers? You will be able to make a decision about type of article you need to write by answering this question. The article may be of any kind such as technical, marketing or philosophical, all which are dissimilar in nature, which is why you must correctly identify your target audience.

You will be able to make a decision about type of article you need to write by answering this question. The article may be of any kind such as technical, marketing or philosophical. All these types are dissimilar in nature.

This step questions your motivation that- why you wish to produce this piece of writing? The articles on the Internet can be classified into four wide approaches, these are

- Writing for Selling: Marketing articles often sell commodities or services to woo readers to a web site. The fast-paced speed of these articles are immediately obvious and, for this reason, the content of marketing remains small in size. Keywords are important for selling because they invite readers performing general word searches.

- Technical writing-This type of writing requires actual facts. The technical aspect is well understood with diagrams. But, in lack of these, one has to keep the description right to avoid misconceptions. The most crucial aspect is the target audience. If you use highly technical words, then a common man would find it difficult to understand. And if the article has more of the style, the people with technical expertise will find it without technical details.

- Trendy writing-The extensive use of blogs in the recent times has made this writing very popular. The main aspects here are to make the content more appealing and entertaining. The things should be straightforward, short and full of quick points. These pieces of writing could lack details and arguments.

- Intellectual Writing: This writing requires detailed description of a particular field and often makes references from popular books. Intellectual writing is aimed at contributing to a field of study. However, it does not necessarily have to be academic in nature. Good examples of intellectual writing are book reviews and editorial columns.

The Internet is the most popular media for sharing the information and if used in an efficient manner, it can work wonders for you.
