The continuous growth of Facebook makes its use a must for all marketers, professionals and companies. Recently more and more businesses have understood the need to create an online presence on relevant social networks and have begun including Facebook Fan Pages in their social media strategy. According to statistics released by Facebook, 10 million people become fans of a page every day. The relevance of a Facebook Fan Page is recognised by Google also. Typing ‘Facebook for Business’ in Google brings 600 million results. Facebook provides an exceptional opportunity for visibility, Google indexing, live search ability, and fan engagement.
However, creating a Fan Page and having hundreds of fans should not be the ultimate goal of a business, but merely the beginning. Once you add fans, you need to design a social media strategy to keep people engaged to your Fan Page. Most businesses find it very challenging to do so at the moment. We have compiled a list of solutions to keep your Facebook fans engaged:
1. Brand new! (Use announcements of new product releases, important upgrades as to increase conversation with your Facebook Fans.)
2. Promo! (We all love discounts, special offers and freebies. There is nothing that gets us more.)
3. Show that you care! (Get your business involved in charity work, supporting causes that make the world a better place, eco-friendly projects.)
4. Network with other platforms! (Create a network of other platforms, working in conjunction to drive visitors to your fan page. Include your Twitter followers and activity into your Fan page engagement.)
5. Create a resource! (Use the Facebook Fan Page to offer information pertinent to your audience. Use information as added value to have consumers create a connection with the brand.)
6. Include relevant content! (Use auto posting features to insert your blog in your Fan Page. E.g. Posterous.)
7. Share quality and relevant content, on a daily basis!
8. Mix up the type of posts! (links, text, photos, video, events)
9. Incite comments using the Discussions tab!
10. Respond to all your fans!
We hope you will find these useful in improving your company’s engagement on Facebook! Please share with us your experience and opinion on how to engage Facebook Fans!

Most businesses are using paid advertising nowadays to reach their exact targeted audience. PPC search engine internet advertising seems to have quite clear using guidelines, which makes it a good option for online businesses. The success of pay per click advertising in terms of clicks and conversions is highly dependent on the quality of your ad copy. As search engine optimisation consultant we have put together a list of tips and techniques that can help your ad stand out. For all search engines, starting with Google pay per click campaigns and Yahoo or MSN, the techniques suggested bellow are of great value:
1. The heading/title is considered the most important part of a PPC copy. Therefore, we would suggest focusing on it and making it attractive!
2. Insert your targeted keywords in the ad title.
3. Also, when writing your copy, remember the importance of your unique selling proposition (USP). E.g. if your prices are lower than competition, make sure you emphasize that!
4. Keep the “display URL” section short! Use it for free brand exposure for your domain name.
5. Try to always include a Special Offer in the ad text. People respond better when seeing any “Free” add-on offers in the ad title. One example could be: free delivery, free bonus software, or free 30-day trial.
6. The displayed URL would be more appealing if you include capitalization. Chances your URL gets memorized are increased.
7. Use clear, precise sentences, not just keywords.
8. Use Google’s Keyword Insertion Feature. Through it, you can place a code into your ad copy that will auto-populate your ad with whatever search query is used, provided that particular keyword is being targeted in your ad group. The keyword insertion feature has the potential of getting more clicks, because generally people are tempted to click on an ad that exactly matches their search.
9. Pay attention to your competition. Research what your competitors’ are doing on their PPC campaigns and try to work on making yours better, distinct from theirs.
10. Use Google’s Keyword Insertion Feature. This feature allows you to place a code into your ad copy that will auto-populate your ad with whatever search query is used, provided that keyword is being targeted in your ad group. The keyword insertion feature has the potential of getting more clicks, because generally people are tempted to click on an ad that exactly matches their search.
PPC search engine internet advertising offers online businesses the opportunity to reach their exact audience and promote their services to those directly interested. It is now available through the most important search engines: Google, Yahoo and MSN and is considered very effective.

This new system known as Traffic Voodoo teaches you not only how to generate traffic but also how to make sales from it. The course provides step-by-step instructions coupled with live webinars where you can have your questions addressed. Keep in mind that this course is not geared towards the novice, mainly because of its cost and advanced tactics that are taught.
There are three areas covered in this course. The first will show you how to generate traffic and get sales out of it. That is key as all the traffic in the world doesn’t automatically produce revenue. You will need to work at this by initially bulding a list of these visitors to target as potential buyers.
It is of value to place emphasis on building lists at this time. Why are lists necessary? Several advertisers believe that email advertising is a shady Internet business method, and there are several instances which would lead somebody to believe this. Yet, a list is your greatest Internet asset, a list is a source for purchasers in addition to being for no cost traffic. Nevertheless, it isn’t just about possessing a huge list, it is what you do with that list. It is not necessary to be a shady advertiser, you may give good value to your list and create a relationship with loyal customers.
The most popular methods for generating traffic are through Social Media, Video Marketing, PPC, SEO, affiliate traffic and CPA: Traffic Voodoo covers all of these methods. And this course covers these strategies in a way you can understand, as you watch over the shoulder of experts in each of these areas.
Once you complete the training sessions, you will have the opportunity to have your questions answered via a live webinar which will be of an enormous help in clarifying the areas you are struggling with so far. These sessions will be priceless in your ongoing internet marketing education if you decide to take this course. These webinars allow you to ask the best in the business any question you want in real time. How valuable is that?

Many real estate agents find that social media marketing does not work for them. Part of the problem is they are not using the media to its full potential. You can use it to increase your clients following a few tips.
You should remember not to make a fan page for yourself on Facebook, but instead make an information focused one. Your own information should be visible as a sponsor, but you’ll be more likely to get fans and get your links share by offering information content then just yourself. If you choose to have one for just yourself, then don’t make it a fan page, just a social networking one.

This is very important since the more of an expert you’re considered, the more likely that potential clients will remember who you are and come to your page and tell others to use it as well. You should always link your videos to your own websites, or have links people can visit associated with them.
Create a blog. Add the videos to your blog which can help make them multi-media and more interesting. By providing a blog with content that may be helpful to other people, you can use this to get hits on your website and get your name about as an agent.
Always provide useful content every time you post to sites. By giving information that people can use, not to just promote yourself, this will help you become known as an expert in the real estate business. This makes you more valuable to people which can help you get higher on the search engine rankings because they are more to have them link you you with allows potential clients be able to find you easier.
Back link your posts and videos on places like digg and Stumbleupon. This increases your search engine rankings and allows people to find you through the site under the topic, which makes you more likely to get traffic to your blog and other web pages.

A study recently carried out by Burson-Marsteller Communications Group shows that 79% of Fortune 100 companies are embracing social media. The study also gives evidence regarding detailed use of social media by those companies: the channels they are focusing on and their dedication to social media. As most of us know, Top 100 Fortune Companies puts together the most respected and renowned names, which also have access to the best resources due to the large budget they have in hands to manage. For traditional marketing, this has always given them a boost. However, can their resources represent an advantage when it comes to their online marketing strategy and their involvement in creating a strong online brand? Some say social media marketing is about using the right strategy and getting it implemented in the right way, and the budget allocated is less important. The study analyses their use of four of the largest social networking channels: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Business Blogs.
The percentage chart of Fortune global 100 companies’ use of social media was revealed by Burson-Marsteller. They have identified four social media marketing channels as being most used. They are the following: Twitter (65%), Facebook (54%), YouTube (50%) and Blogs (33%).
Although there is a difference when it comes to the number of social networking channels they are using, out of the same four. It seems that when referring to the companies using at least one of the four channels, European companies are leading, 88% of them using at least one, while the US has 86% and Asia only 50%. That is a surprise, since most people assume the US should lead when it comes to social media use.
However the US is leading when referring to the companies using all four social networking sites. 28% of the US companies are using all four, while only 15% of the European companies are using all four. Whereas 25% of the Asian companies are also using all four channels.
The study also investigates the top 100 companies’ activity on Twitter for one week. The results show 82% of them are tweeting company news, 38% are actually responding to people’s tweets and only 32% are re-tweeting. It looks like large companies are doing a better job at promoting themselves than actually listening and responding to their audience. Their customer service orientation does not seem to be very good when looking at these results. Some of them are missing two very important steps of social media: listen and respond.
It is worth noticing that a large number of their followers are re-tweeting their news. The research proves that 32% of the tweets coming from Fortune Global 100 companies are re-tweeted.
The second channel analysed was Facebook. There, the companies seem to be more involved. After analysing the Facebook Fan Pages activity for one week, the study shows that 59% of the companies have posts of their company and 43% have posts from fans. In addition to this, 51% also have likes from fans and 41% have posts with comments from fans. The average number of fans per page is about 40,884 fans per account.
Since the interaction created on YouTube is covered on larger time span, the companies’ activity for one month has been analysed. Results show that 68% of the companies uploaded new videos and 76% of channels also got feedback from viewers.
When it comes to blogging, the companies’ activity for one month was investigated. It reveals a rather low involvement of companies. Only 36% of corporate blogs had posts during that month and 54% of them had blog comments.
Last but not least, the research gives an overview of the companies’ average number of accounts per company. Results show that most companies have an average number of 4.2 Twitter accounts, 2.1 Facebook accounts, 1.8 YouTube channels and 4.2 blogs running.
To summarize the results of this study we can conclude that fortune 100 companies are quite actively using Social Media channels to get attention from their audience. More than 85% of Fortune 100 American and European companies are using at least one social media channel and all over the globe more than 80% tweet company news regularly. Their Facebook presence has been successful, with an average Fan base of more than 40K per account. Also, they are not neglecting the power of videos, nearly 70% of them upload company videos time to time and their followers do comment on the videos. Nevertheless they are not using blogging that effectively. With the increase in people using social media networks for expressing more and more it is important for all the businesses to start listening and engaging their loyal customers online.

1. Spend more traditional ad budget on customer service
Most of the problems could be diffused easily if companies would simply treat customers as they should. In today’s social life activities, word of mouth travels far and can truly influence users across the globe.
2. Implement robust policies for social media
A majority of companies have been engaged in social media activities on an as required basis, without a plan and long term goals. What we need to do is to put together a list of goals and then work to find a strategy that will work to accomplish them.
3. Provide proper training to staff
Remember, the idea for social media is to make public, and very quickly, whatever your ideas or services or products are about. It is in your interest to ensure that workers are not breaking terms of use, acting inappropriately, providing inaccurate information or involved in any other type of detrimental promotional activity.
4. Track to measure success
One of the toughest aspects of Social Media Marketing is tracking the conversations that are occurring ‘deep inside the information cloud’. Research and find a solution that will help you and your company achieve your social media goals.
5. Protect your image by protecting your brand name
If you have a trademarked term, you can almost always stop name squatters from hijacking your brand name, but why wait for that to happen? There are services that allow you to reserve usernames across hundreds of sites and prevent those from stealing your brand.
6. Customise your social network pages
Use your social media profiles as extensions of your brand and of your website. Take the time to make custom backgrounds for Twitter or create rich Facebook tabs that support your current marketing initiatives.
7. Advertise your social profiles to promote yourself
Many times, simply slapping a social media badge in your footer is simply not enough. Although one of the hardest things to justify in Internet marketing is spending money without sending visitors to your web site, you have to understand that much like investing in design and development for social profiles, you should be securing budget for advertising on social media sites as well.
8. Reward loyal fans and ‘Call to action’ to get new fans
By offering fans items that are exclusive to the social audience, you can ‘demonstrate value’ and make them feel good about following you. Not only would they get an exclusive deal/song/download/game, they also get the feeling that they are getting a special connection that not everyone has.
9. Reach out to more social network sites
While Twitter and Facebook are making the biggest splash on the news scene, there are hundreds more social sites out there - many of which can help you achieve company goals.
10. Don’t neglect your main website
While all of the above points speak mainly of tactics that work off of your site, one of the biggest things to remember is that you can be social on your site. Things like blogs and forums were the original social media, so make sure to maintain and cultivate them and create good content that will perform well in social media.

How Important is Your Online Brand?
As the social spaces grow, there are more opportunities to increase your brand awareness and build on solid customer referrals, but the flip side is that there are additional opportunities for negative publicity. For this reason, businesses should be very aware of their online reputation and how this can affect their position within the SERP’s. As search engines push for more personalized, user based results, consumer attitudes and recommendations become more important, and help to shape your brand online. Don’t waste this opportunity to manage your brand with Social Media.
As a business owner, you should be concerned with your online brand, and it’s important that you carry a consistent message and control the information that can be found online. There are literally thousands of online mediums where a consumer can praise you for excellent work, or bash you for sub-standard service. Your responsibility is to monitor and know what is being said about your business online, and respond in a timely manner to either praise, or criticism. The following steps will make your job easier and keep your brand out of the gutter.
4 Ways You Can Manage Your Brand With Social Media Websites
Make sure your image is consistent, this starts with your Avatar. You want to make sure that your Avatar presents your business professionally, and represents your business in the most positive light possible. The first thing people will recognize is your avatar, don’t neglect it.
Use consistent images - Representing yourself with an avatar is a great idea, and it’s important to use the same one for all your social profiles. It helps when people can recognize you in different areas online, and allows you to build relationships with people in your niche. Having social media friends will go a long way in battling negative press or libel.
Use Social Monitoring Software - there are many social management software solutions designed to help you filter the noise, and find what is being said about your company. Using these programs isn’t cheating, in fact it’s essential if you plan to register your name in multiple sites and you care about responding to your customers in the social media space. There are just too many conversations out there to manage them all without electronic help. Some of the tools we recommend include, Tracker, Knowem and Socialize, among others.
Control Your Brand - There are opportunities every day to brand your company. Some are deliberate, some are the consequence of another’s actions. You can’t control what is said about your company, but you can monitor and reply as needed. You simply need to control all of the online mediums where your business will be found, and you need to control the information that is being published about your business. A good rule of thumb for a business to ask is “Would I want a Family Member to see this”? If you answer NO, you shouldn’t publish it online. Accidental branding happens all the time, make sure it doesn’t happen to your business.
Is Your Business Ready to use Social Media for Brand Management?
Social Media websites are getting more popular by the day and they represent a great opportunity to build your business and manage your brand online. If you can follow the tips outlined above, you’re off to a great start in your brand management process.
If your business takes the time to manage your brand online, you’ll find that you can create a loyal following and make sure that the information found on the search engines paints your company in the best light. If you don’t have the time or inclination to do it right, you should avoid social media altogether, or hire a professional to manage your reputation and build your brand.
There’s only one way to do social media: the right way.

Are you a Global Verge member? If you are, you are probably wondering which approaches are the most fruitful methods for obtaining a large amount of new leads. One of the best ways to generate new leads is through social bookmarking sites. If you want to generate Global Verge leads online, then you should definitely consider every advertising opportunity that is available to you on social bookmarking sites.
If you want to find customers who are interested in the products you have to offer on your Global Verge site, then you should find people who are already constantly using services that are inferior to the ones you are offering to them. One of the best places to find people who are using an inferior service compared to the offers of Global Verge is on social networking websites like MySpace and Facebook. If you can befriend a wide range of people on these sites, and also place messages relevant to your ads on these sites, you can rapidly build a list of potential leads for your business.
If you want to advertise the video conferencing product, for example, then you should contact as many people as you can on websites like Facebook and MySpace. Visitors on these web pages are often searching for the best ways to contact their friends and family. If they could buy this product, they would be able to communicate with their friends much quicker and easier than they currently do. There are many people on these social bookmarking sites who would love to setup video conferences with all of their friends to create a streamlined connection with those they love.
This is not the only product that has a decent amount of potential for this advertising market though. Once the cell phone services are in full swing, it will be easy to advertise this service as well to these social networking users. Practically everyone on social networking sites have cell phones. All of these cell phone clients are looking for a better deal on their phone connections all of the time. If you can offer them a better deal than they already have with their current plans, then you will increase the chances that you will generate leads and sales very easily.
The more friends you can find on these very large websites, the more likely you will create a buzz around the product you are selling. Once you have many connections through one of these sites, you can increase the amount of exposure your website is receiving by becoming active amongst the conversations on all of your friend’s pages and comments.
Using websites like Facebook and MySpace are often very effective on their own. If you want to get the most you can from your online advertising though, you should investigate the other possibilities available to you. Epinions, as well as Digg, can provide you an excellent opportunity for expanding public knowledge about your business.
